Human body as biological matter, as a phenomenon of nature and a fragile, viable interaction between cells. With this view of the body, Amanda Romero created the solo "SENSORIUM" and in cooperation with Greta Salgado the duo "Just Living Matter". Performt and made possible by the residency program Inkubator in the Tanzfaktur Köln.
From her questions about cultural identity, the consequences of colonialism in her hometown Peru and the cultural knowledge and heritage of the ancient Andean culture, she started the research collaboration "Y Nosotros" with the Peruvian dancer Jean Pierre Yllescas and with the help of a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture Culture and Science NRW.
With her collective ".Dencuentro" (Constanza Ruiz, Greta Salgado, Amanda Romero) she studied the cultural tradition Tinku, which originates from the southern Andes of South America. This research was funded by the Tanzrecherche NRW and PACT Zollverein and will be put on stage in the year 2020 as a production.
Amanda is the founder of the Cologne Dance Festival "Freie Performance Kultur". She studied dance at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and did her thesis "Feeling Beat Feeling Beat" about the perception and processing of the rhythm in the brain and in the body.
Besides she is a certified pilates trainer and a passionate masseuse.
